Tunisia Calls for a Just World

This year, with the slogan of “A Just World from East to West”, the 12th International Students’ Gathering, which shall be held in 91 cities of 51 different countries, completed its Tunisian phase.


The Tunisian phase of the 12th International Students’ Gathering, which was held in the city of Tunis marked presence of Ambassador of Republic of Turkey for Tunisia  H.E. Omer Faruk Dogan, President of UDEF Dr. Mehmet Ali Bolat, CEO of Mediterranean Consulting Network Rajabu Kliamuna, international students from more than 20 countries and several Turkish Alumni.

Let there be Peace and Brotherhood all over the World

The event, which began with the recitation of the Noble Quran, followed inaugural speech from Dr. Mehmet Ali Bolat, President of UDEF. In his speech, Dr. Bolat assessed regarding UDEF and its activities, meanwhile he even mentioned of honor and pride he felt for 12th International Students’ Gathering being held in Tunisia. He further added, “We wish for Peace and Brotherhood to spread all over the world. We want the trade, culture and cuisine amongst us to flourish and spread just the way we share the joy of being here together at this moment.”

We Bring Continents, Cultures and Colors Together

President Bolat, who mentioned that the 12th International Students’ Gathering as a unison of the continents, cultures and all of their colors. He further added, “This year once again we shall bring together the continents, cultures and their colors with these astounding events. 150 thousand international students from 203 countries will meet in Turkey this year. This means nothing but unison of hundreds of culture from hundreds of countries. We bring together a whole world of international student gatherings comprising of local games, local music, local flavors and different experiences. By the means of these events as media we offer the opportunity to the Turkish citizens, to witness the tens and hundreds of colors in this cultural fusion.”

Mentioning 12th International Students’ Gathering as an event which means a lot when it comes to introducing and branding education in Turkey, H.E. Omer Faruk Dogan, Turkish Ambassador for Tunisia put forth his words as, “12th International Students’ Gathering is a vital step in terms of promoting Turkey to the world and I am glad to be attending it. And I would like to thank UDEF for its efforts in this regard.”

The program later followed poetry about Jerusalem, local musical and dance performances, which made the event further vibrant. The participants had the opportunity to taste the regional flavors of Tunisia. At the end of the program UDEF President Mehmet Ali Bolat presented a souvenir plaque to H.E. Ömer Faruk Dogan.
