International students studying in Denizli, by the menas of UDEF’s 12th International Students’ Gathering go a chance to introduce and promote their cultures in Denizli.
Pamukkale International Students’ Association, affiliated to UDEF exhibited stands of 24 different countries. These stands from the international students exhibited their culture belongings, traditional sports, food, clothes, and regional dances. The event, which was organized in the Gol Bahce Sqaure of Pamukkale University, students from Chad, Burundi, Azerbaijan, Somalia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Yemen and many other countries participated it with a common slogan; “For a Just World, From East to West”.
Yasin Karaman, President of Pamukkale International Student Association in his inaugural speech said, “It is our main goal to have the students to own consciousness of universal brotherhood, to know the modern world order, to have high organizational capability, to be aware of the situation and requirements of their countries, to know the glorious of Islamic culture and history and to return to their countries as a volunteer ambassadors of civilization.”
UDEF Organizational Coordinator Adnan Oğuz in his speech mentioned, “The journey that began in 2004 with SADER today has reached to 64 associations throughout Turkey and we bear an objective of spread our activities all over the world. The spread of these activities all over the world plays a vital role in terms of formation of the Ummah consciousness. The presence of some 150 thousand international students in Turkey from 203 different countries is forming the center of the idea of ‘We Are One Nation’. This consciousness is formed by the contributions of our fellow international students. We as UDEF strive to be of utmost help to our international students, regardless of their country of origin.”
The event that was a meeting point of dozens of colors and cultures was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Theology of Pamukkale University Dr. Abdülhamit Birışık, Memur-Sen Denizli Province Representative Feyzullah Öselmiş, Egitim-Bir- Sen University Branch President Mehmet Baysal, UDEF Organizational Coordinator Adnan Oğuz, UDEF Student Affairs Coordinator Yunus Tatlı, many NGO representatives and local public.
