International Students’ Gathering in Agri

This year the 12th International Students’ Gathering, under the auspices of the Presidency of Republic of Turkey, is projected to be held in 91 cities of 51 different countries was recently held in the city of Agri. Nuhun Gemisi Student Association, one of the affiliates of UDEF, organized the event.


The event that was organized at Agri Ibrahim Chechen University Ishak Pasa Culture and Congress Center comprised of introductory country presentations, traditional dance performances, traditional food and music.

President of Bab-I Alem Intenational Student Association Haci Mehmet Kara, Rector of Ibrahim Chechen University Prof. Dr. Abdulhalik Karabulut, General Manager of Ibrahim Chechen Foundation Meral Dincer, Agri Deputy Governor Yakup Omeroglu, Faculty members of Agri Ibrahim Chechen, a number of NGO representatives, local public and international student attended the program. Kenan Engin made the inaugural speech in the event.

Kenan Engin, President of Nuhun Gemisi Intenational Student Association, in his speech said that he takes it as his personal duty to help international students with all sorts of issues related to education, accommodation, health and resident permit.

Prof. Dr. Abdulhalik Karabulut, Rector of Agri Ibrahim Chechen University said, “I follow UDEF’s student related works closely. These works are of great importance for international students. I extend my gratitude towards UDEF for their fruitful efforts.”

Haci Mehmet Kara, President of Bab-i Âlem International Student Association said, “With the objective of introducing international student to the general public, helping students earn organizational skills and introducing themselves as the volunteer ambassadors of their respective countries, this year we are organizing the 12th International Students’ Gathering in 91 cities of 51 different countries.”

With traditional dance and musical performance, the event turned into a festival. At the end of the event, participants were served with traditional delicacies as well.
