12th International Students’ Gathering held in Ivory Coast

The unison of continents, cultures and colors; 12th International Students’ Gathering completed its colorful events in Ivory Coast. The event, which noticed remarkable presence of Turkish Alumni from Ivory Coast and international students continuing their education in Turkey helped plant deeper intercontinental leniency and love.


This year, the 12th International Students’ Gathering organized by UDEF with the motto of “For a Just World, From East to West” in 51 countries and 91 different cities has concluded its events in Ivory Coast with indelible impressions.

Registrar of the Turkish Embassy in Ivory Coast Umut Ozturk, Vice President of Bab-i Alem International Student Association Ercan Akcan, Assistant Coordinator of UDEF’s Educational Affairs Unit Muhammed Diallo, Rector of Virtual University Prof. Tiemoman Kone, Head of Department of International Relations Dr. Bamba Aboulaye, UDEF’s Invory Coast Representative Dr. Ali Dumbia, representatives from various NGOs and several international students attended the event that was held in the city of Abidjan.

Increase in Interest towards Turkey

The program that began with the recitation of the Noble Quran followed speech from Ercan Akcan, who was attending the program on behalf of UDEF.

In his speech, Mr. Akcan said, “The number of international students have been noticed to be on surge since 2004. International students who travel to Turkey from far off their homes, we try our level best not leaving them alone being by their side in all situations. As UDEF, we strive to bridge hearts with the motive of Ansar-Muhajir Brotherhood. We support international students with counselling, guidance, stipend and accommodation, meanwhile, reminding them of their vital role in the establishment of a world full of peace”

Later speaking in the event, Registrar of Turkish Embassy, Umut Ozturk thanked UDEF for its activities related to international students, and importance of these activities for enhancing mutual relations and communications among different cultures.

Rector of Virtual University, Prof. Tiemoman Kone  said, “I would like to express my gratitude to UDEF as well for their valued efforts in the matters of introducing Kazakhstan to the world as well as from the perspective of international students.”
